Two Approaches

Inkless revision or camouflage

Which route is discussed depends on your marks, your skin and your goals. Some clients are suited to one, some to a combination, and some to neither.

Inkless Revision

Often discussed for
Newer red or purple marks, and textured marks where skin remodelling is the goal.
Method
Micro-needling with restorative serums, intended to stimulate the skin's own collagen response — no pigment is deposited.
Typical journey
Assessment, then a spaced series of sessions reviewed as your skin responds. The number of sessions varies.
Healing & aftercare
Expect temporary redness and sensitivity. Keep the area clean, moisturised and out of direct sun; avoid heat, swimming and heavy sweating for the period we specify.
Longevity
Depends on how your skin remodels and on aftercare. Ongoing maintenance may be advised.

Skin-Tone Camouflage

Often discussed for
Older silver or white marks that have already settled and are flat in texture.
Method
Pigment custom-blended to the client's usual skin tone and placed into the mark, designed to soften how visible it is against the surrounding skin.
Typical journey
Patch test and blend first, then treatment in stages with healing time between, reviewed before any further work.
Healing & aftercare
Treat it as healing skin: keep it clean and dry as directed, no picking, and strict sun protection while it settles.
Longevity
Pigment softens over time and can shift with sun exposure. Touch-ups may be needed; intervals vary.

Results, healing, number of sessions and longevity vary. Nothing here is a guarantee of outcome, and no approach removes stretch marks entirely.

The Process

Four steps, in order

01

Consultation & assessment

We look at the age, colour and texture of the marks, discuss your history and skin, and talk through which approach — if any — is appropriate for you.

02

Individual plan & patch testing

A personalised plan is mapped out. Where camouflage is being considered, patch testing and pigment blending are carried out before any larger area is treated.

03

Treatment & aftercare

Treatment is performed in a private studio with numbing cream applied beforehand. You leave with written aftercare for the healing period.

04

Review & touch-up

We review how the area has settled and decide together whether a further session or touch-up is worthwhile. Timing varies by person.

Before You Book

Candidacy, safety and expectations

Who it may suit

  • Post-pregnancy, post-weight-change, growth-spurt or athletic marks
  • Marks that have settled and are no longer changing
  • Clients comfortable with a staged plan and review points
  • Clients able to follow sun protection and aftercare instructions

When we may decline or delay

  • Active skin infection, irritation or unhealed injury in the area
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • A history of keloid or abnormal scarring
  • Recent tanning, sunburn or planned sun exposure
  • Relevant medical conditions or medications without clearance from your doctor

This is not medical advice or a full screening. Suitability is decided in person.

Realistic expectations

  • The goal is to soften the appearance of marks, not to erase them
  • Colour, texture and skin tone all affect what is achievable
  • Healing timelines and session counts differ between people
  • Camouflage pigment does not tan with surrounding skin

Hygiene and standards

Treatments are carried out by Iz in our private Redondo Beach studio using single-use disposables where applicable, with written aftercare provided. Specific certifications and product details are shared directly at consultation.

FAQ

Stretch mark questions, answered

Which approach might suit me?

Newer red or purple marks are usually discussed for inkless revision, while older silver or white marks are more often discussed for camouflage. The only way to know is an in-person assessment — suitability varies.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied beforehand. Most clients describe the sensation as light, manageable scratching, though comfort differs from person to person.

Will the camouflage tan with the rest of my skin?

No. Pigment does not tan with surrounding skin, so the skin around it can darken with sun exposure while the treated area stays as blended. We blend for your usual year-round tone and recommend consistent sun protection to help keep the match looking even.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies. Some people are happy after a single session, others prefer a series. We plan one step at a time rather than selling a fixed number up front.

How long does it last?

Longevity varies with skin type, area, sun exposure and aftercare. Camouflage pigment softens over time and may need a touch-up; inkless work depends on how your skin remodels.

Is it right for every skin tone?

Not automatically. Skin tone, scarring history and how your skin heals all affect suitability, which is why assessment and patch testing come first.
